𐌽𐌹𐌿𐍄𐌰𐌽𐌳𐌹𐍃 𐌲𐌰𐍅𐌰𐌿𐍂𐌳𐌾𐌰:Sajasazi
Hello Sajasazi. Thanks for the message. And apologies for adding to your workload -- I've just logged on now to fix the mistakes I introduced yesterday, cause I discovered their source (or so it seems to me), and I can see that you have already fixed them for me -- thank you :-)
And indeed, I don't know Gothic as such though I have some command of Old English and I have studied the history of Germanic to some (modest) extent. And I've done some work on the history of Polish, too, which, as I can see now, also figures when one tries to parse Gothic, as it has a slightly "Slavic" flavour to me, though this statement probably misrepresents the historical facts and the direction of influence (not sure). Anyway, I don't have problems understanding simple sentences. The language has an incredible charm to me, I recall that as a student I used to think that it was such a horrible pity that it died out, the only one in its branch. I do hope this project continues, and I'll try to help at least by adding interwiki or just by being here and adding to the number of users. And I promise to be more careful next time :-)
Best wishes, Bansp 17:15, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the encouragement. Currently, I'm rather overloaded with work, but I'll try my hand at something simple after I've gone through the basic documents on the language. As I'm looking closer at it, I am starting to wonder where my feeling of its similarity to Slavic came from. Maybe I simply came across some familiar roots. As far as I recall, Gothic was one of the channels of borrowing Germanic words into Slavic, and it surely might/should have worked the other way round. The genetic points of contact weren't probably as close as you say (it seems to me, when I vaguely recall the satem/kentum split and the Indo-European tree). Anyway, I'll make sure to read up on that (pointers welcome, in case you come across any).
Just one more thing -- I'm wondering about neologisms: have you tried to use words from the Busbecq report (described at en:Crimean Gothic language)? Is there a meta page with Gothic neologisms that you guys came up with and that could be used by others? Thanks, Bansp 02:20, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
Thx for article. Look: http://pl.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kur%C3%B3w_%28powiat_pu%C5%82awski%29&action=history. In Poland the smallest city has under 1000 people and in Norway cities are already 200 people!! Kurów is a village but lost city rights on stupid idea. Pietras1988 13:52, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

Article Request
[𐌹𐌽𐌼𐌰𐌹𐌳𐌴𐌹]Bonjour Sajasazi ! I know that you are an expert scholar in the Gothic language; Can you please kindly help me create a stub for this article which is based on the French article. 1-3 lines would be sufficient enough. Your help would be gratefully appreciated. Merci. (I do not know what the correct Gothic title should be) -- Joseph, 07:54 Monday 27 March 2006 (UTC)

Latin alphabet
[𐌹𐌽𐌼𐌰𐌹𐌳𐌴𐌹]I have completely respected that you want this to be a biscriptal Wikipedia, because I suppose that makes sense.
However, in the long history of the Gothic language, two scripts predominate: Runic, and Wulfilas' alphabet.
Now, I respect you having pages in Latin. But I cannot respect you trying to make the entire interface of this Wikipedia in Latin. It is wrong, it is not really Gothic. Goths did not use this alphabet to write their language. --Node ue 18:58, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- Where do you get the strange idea that Gotophiles won't know the Gothic alphabet? Probably everybody at gothic-l knows Wulfilas' alphabet! The only people who won't know the Gothic alphabet, are people who don't know the Gothic language, and they won't be able to read it anyway!!! --Node ue 21:09, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- User-selectable software auto-transliteration between Latin, the Gothic alphabet and Runic would be the way to settle this, like what is done on the Chinese and Serbian Wikipedias. There will be people who would rather read and work on this edition with each script and that would permit it. G0th007 15:12, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

gutanerazda
[𐌹𐌽𐌼𐌰𐌹𐌳𐌴𐌹]Hails Sajasazi.

- Laut dem "Grammar of the Gothic Language" von Joseph Wright (und auch in anderen büchern) steht auf s. 5: The Gothic character "" (ï) was used at the beginning of a word and medially after a vowel not belonging to the same syllable, thus (ïddja I went); (fraïtiþ he devours)."
Lg http://af.wiktionary.org/wiki/Gebruikerbespreking:Manie.

Greetings
[𐌹𐌽𐌼𐌰𐌹𐌳𐌴𐌹]Greetings, Sajasazi. I found this Wikipedia a while ago and became very interested in the Gothic language. I'm having trouble, however, in learning it. Would you consider sharing your experiences and providing any tips? I would greatly appreciate it.
I also want to let you know that I replaced Image:Netherlands flag large.png with the svg version from Commons. The former is redundant.
Thank you, Iamunknown 23:44, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
Multilingualism...kind of
[𐌹𐌽𐌼𐌰𐌹𐌳𐌴𐌹]Have you seen the multilingual set up on meta? (Check out m:Meta:Babel and m:Meta:Language select.) I imagine that it could be implemented in some fashion here. Of course, here we would use it for multiple scripts, not multiple languages. --Iamunknown 07:25, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Bonjour.

Haubidaseido
[𐌹𐌽𐌼𐌰𐌹𐌳𐌴𐌹]I was thinking of a new Haubidaseido in addition to my changes in the Community Portal and Hialpa. Perhaps, something like the Old Englisc Wikipedia, but cut down for the purposes of this smaller wiki? --Jacques Pirat 03:04, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
de-sysop

Gothic MediaWiki messages imported into Betawiki
[𐌹𐌽𐌼𐌰𐌹𐌳𐌴𐌹]Hi Sajasazi. I see that you have contributed to the messages in the namespace MediaWiki. Thank you for that. As Gothic did not yet have any generic messages in MediaWiki (only on this wiki), we imported the messages from Special:Allmessages into betawiki:. Betawiki also supports the translation of messages for 117 extensions, with over 1,600 messages. I would like to invite you to join the Betawiki community and help improve MediaWiki localisation for the languages you are able to contribute to.
If you have any further questions, please let me know on my talk page on Betawiki. We will try and assist you as much as possible. You can also find us on the Freenode IRC network in the channel #mediawiki-i18n where we would be happy to help you get started.
Thank you very much for your attention and I do hope to see you on Betawiki soon! Cheers! Siebrand@Betawiki 00:16, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
Hello
[𐌹𐌽𐌼𐌰𐌹𐌳𐌴𐌹]Hi, I am bugboy52.4, and I contribute to the english wikipedia on arthropoda, more specifically, insecta, but I have been having a hard time about the naming of taxonomic terms, so I asked Hexagon1, who said to go to Manie, who told me to join gothic-l, so I created a Yahoo account, and applied for the group; But while I wait for a responce, I need someone to check the grammer (which I know needs grammatical fixing) of the page I created, 𐌸𐍂𐌰𐌼𐍃𐍄𐌴𐌹 Bugboy52.4 16:29, 12 Kaldmenoþs 2009 (UTC)
