π·πΉπ»πππ π²π°π π°πΏππ³πΎπ°:Writing foreign words and names
Hello, it is nice to see you are interested in Gothic. But for this topic, we already have a big page that deals with it. Also, we are currently discussing this matter in the Gothic community because since years, it has been dealt with rather badly. The one persons etymologises every word, the other person rewrites words phonologically, the other person orthographically. Our current minimal projection method is to keep orthography as intact as possible. Maybe I'll come back to you when we have results, or you can join our discussion? We are on Discord. Do you have discord?
- Hi! I now completely understand. It seems like the orthography-preservation method would rely on less ambiguities/unknowns. I do have a Discord, should I link my account or could you shoot a server invite my way? Thanks!
- This Wikipedia will be involved in the community decisions on how to proceed. Since there hasn't been happening much in the scene except for rather recently, there has also not been a consensus of foreign words like for American actors/actresses. Here, you have two links to Gothic servers https://discord.gg/sJvaDPP and https://discord.gg/chynevV. The discussion about name-coining is to be found on the first one. But never too bad to be an two servers.
